Mats Raynard is a German composer and pianist. He discovered his love for the 88-key instrument as a child and initially taught himself to play the piano on an ancient and completely out-of-tune piano belonging to his parents. He later received professional piano lessons.
The focus of his work is on calm piano music in the neoclassical style, garnished with moving orchestral arrangements. His intention is to use a warm, intimate and sometimes imperfect piano sound to tell diverse stories that touch the listener and send them on an individual journey of thought.
